The Summit Academy Preschool follows a traditional academic school year and is closed during the summer months. Our hours during the school year are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, excluding holidays and professional development days. These dates are listed on the Academic Calendar, which is updated each school year and available on ProCare.
Please do not send a sick child to school. While we understand that children may have runny noses for various reasons, a preschooler should not attend if they are taking medication to reduce a fever. Our goal is always to protect your child and others by keeping our school as germ-free as possible. A child will not be allowed to attend preschool if they have vomited, had diarrhea, or had a fever within the last 24 hours. For more information on our protocol for contagious illnesses, please refer to the family handbook.
At TSAP we have included a Nap/Quiet Time in our full day academic day. Depending upon the age of the child, this could be naptime, but we understand that not all children need to nap so we encourage a Quiet Time so that the child can nap or rest. During this time, classroom lights are dimmed and music is played softly. Children who do not nap learn to remain quiet and respect others who are napping.

Yes. In order to best meet a child’s special dietary needs, it is essential that the preschool staff and parents work closely together. Parents should discuss it with the Director and the child’s teachers upon enrollment. Parents must submit written documentation with specific guidelines for addressing each special type of dietary need and food allergy.
We take a holistic approach to education, focusing on developing the whole child. Our Bible curriculum is rooted in the Fruits of the Spirit, with each fruit explored through corresponding Bible stories that promote character development. In addition to our Bible lessons, we incorporate a Letter of the Week program, which is supported by a supplemental literacy approach. This focuses on building phonemic awareness through short, engaging daily lessons. Children also explore subjects like math, science, music, and art through hands-on, interactive experiences that encourage creativity and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

No. Children should be dressed in comfortable, practical play clothes and dressed for the weather. We encourage parents to send a spare outfit in case an accident occurs during the day.
